What started as easy to mail make-your-own snowflake that was part of Tiny WPA’s 2018 holiday cards evolved into silver and gold holiday ornaments for all to enjoy.

Easy to mail, easy to hang and easy to store, the ornament consists of two flat laser cut pieces that simply slide together to make a 3D snowflake ornament. Prototyping and fabricating the snowflakes provides Building Heroes opportunities to hone their laser cutter, Adobe Illustrator, finishing and ‘systems thinking’ skills.

Add a little or a lot of sparkle to your tree this holiday season and support Tiny WPA and the Building Heroes!

The laser cut snowflakes are made from birch plywood and intended for indoor use only. They are made by young adult Building Heroes in our community focused workshop at 4017 Lancaster Avenue in West Philadelphia.
